OW2 Consortium confirms the strong momentum of its community at JavaPolis in Antwerp, Belgium, 10-14 December, where its Members are displaying a comprehensive range of open source middleware solutions. At the OW2 Village and during the OW2 conference session, OW2 Members present and demonstrate leading OW2 projects working together to provide a full-featured open source information system.
OW2 Members show live demonstrations of Java projects covering the whole middleware spectrum: Enterprise Application Server, Enterprise Service Bus, Data Integration, Business Process Management, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Monitoring, Wiki and Portal.
OW2 Members exhibiting at JavaPolis include Bull, EBMWebsourcing, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, eXo Platform, INRIA, Talend and XWiki.
"This is probably the first time such a broad range of open source middleware solutions are presented in such a consistent way" says Cedric Thomas, OW2 Consortium CEO. "It is a unique demonstration of maturity by the OW2 community" he adds.
Visitors at the OW2 Village have the opportunity to discover the full value provided by the OW2 open source middleware ecosystem. The OW2 conference session is scheduled Wednesday, 12 December, 2:00pm. JavaPolis is the main Java technology trade show held in Europe. OW2 participates in the event as a Premium sponsor.
Founded in January 2007 as a result of the merger of ObjectWeb and OrientWare communities, OW2 is an independent industry consortium dedicated to developing open source code middleware and to fostering a vibrant community and business ecosystem. Building on the legacy of ObjectWeb and OrientWare, OW2 federates more than one hundred organizations and 6000 developers in Europe, Asia and the Americas. OW2 hosts some one hundred technology Projects, including Lomboz, Funambol, eXo Platorm, XWiki, SpagoBI and JOnAS. Several of these projects are combined into market-driven Initiatives, such as the ESB/SOA Initiative and the Business Intelligence Initiative, which facilitate their implementation by systems integrators, OEMs and end-users. A typical global open-source organization, OW2 aims to bring together grassroots communities across all continents through Local Chapters.
