Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Grows

Increased membership of chiropractic stroke survivors group delivers increased resources.

Wethersfield, CT (PRWEB) December 12, 2007 -- The Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Group (CSAG) has taken an important and dramatic step and is resuming its outdoor advertising campaign in Connecticut.

Starting December 6th motorists driving along the Connecticut Turnpike in Fairfield (near the University of Bridgeport, College of Chiropractic) began seeing a huge billboard asking the question, 'Are you aware there is a risk of stroke after a chiropractic manipulation?' The University of Bridgeport is one of nineteen chiropractic schools in the United States educating future chiropractors.

"Our members worldwide are determined to share with the public an accurate, ethical and responsible message about the health risks of chiropractic," said Britt Harwe, Founder of CSAG. "Our informational message stands in sharp contrast to the deliberate deception fueled by a chiropractic industry more interested in profits than patients."

An expanding grassroots movement is adding to the financial resources available for raising public awareness about the potentially severe health risks of chiropractic treatment. In recent months CSAG has been able to fund television commercials, print advertisements and transit bus ads in Connecticut, in addition to billboards in Massachusetts. Planning for a nationwide advertising effort is now in the works.

"I am very pleased at the way our group has grown," Harwe said. "I am also encouraged that our efforts will begin to make a difference in the way chiropractors should do business."

CSAG represents hundreds of people across the country who have been injured by chiropractic treatment. Potential risks can include stroke, permanent disability and even death.
