The Principals of Full Sail Real World Education Announce New Partnership with Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design

The principals of Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com) are pleased to announce that Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design (RMCAD) (www.rmcad.edu) has been added to the family of world-class entertainment media and art schools that currently includes: Full Sail (www.fullsail.com), The Los Angeles Film School (www.lafilm.com) and The Los Angeles Recording School (www.larecordingschool.com).

Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) December 13, 2007 -- The principals of Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com) are pleased to announce that Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design (RMCAD) (www.rmcad.edu) has been added to the family of world-class entertainment media and art schools that currently includes: Full Sail (www.fullsail.com), The Los Angeles Film School (www.lafilm.com) and The Los Angeles Recording School (www.larecordingschool.com).

RMCAD is well-known for its outstanding leadership, quality curriculum and strategic location. The institution was founded by Phillip J. Steele and has been succeeded by Steele's son and daughter, Steve Steele and Susan Pivoda, who continue to serve as RMCAD's President and Vice President for Business & Planning, respectively. The principals of Full Sail now join the Steele Family, allowing the combined leadership to continue to evolve RMCAD, already a premier source of art and design education in the world today.

Presently, RMCAD offers Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees in the following six disciplines: Animation (2-D or 3-D); Art Education (Painting and Drawing, Sculpture or Illustration); Graphic Design and Interactive Media; Illustration; Interior Design (with a green design emphasis); and Fine Arts (Painting and Drawing, Sculpture or Photo/Video). The College is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and is also accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.

RMCAD is located on a picturesque 23-acre campus near downtown Denver, Colorado, at the foot of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It offers 140,000 square feet of facilities that accommodates over 500 currently enrolled students. The campus features six Macintosh and Windows NT computer labs, art studios, classrooms in over 15 buildings, plentiful green space, and the Phillip J. Steele Gallery for students, faculty, and visiting artists to display their work.

"The Arts play such a vital role in any community," said Steve Burkholder, Mayor of Lakewood, CO. "The Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design is an integral part of our city and the new partnership with the principals of Full Sail Real World Education only enhances the financial stability and the academic excellence of an already respected institution."
In addition to the outstanding features that RMCAD has to offer, another aspect to be acknowledged is the significant economic impact of each partnering institution. Full Sail's presence in Central Florida and the existence of the two Los Angeles schools in Southern California has significantly contributed to the economic impact of both states.

In a study conducted by The Washington Economics Group, results indicate that Full Sail's presence in the Orlando region was responsible for a regional impact of $400,000,000 in 2006 with a $2,700,000,000 projected total regional impact over the next five years. Full Sail also positively impacts employment positions in the region as 3,500 jobs exist because of the college's activities, and that number is projected to grow to 6,000 positions within the next five years.
Similarly, the Los Angeles schools make a significant impact to the greater Los Angeles region. The Washington Economics Group concluded that combined, The Los Angeles Film School and The Los Angeles Recording School generate $129,000,000 of economic impact this year, and that number is expected to total $1,200,000,000 over the next five years. The two LA schools support 1,059 employment positions in the region, with an expected growth to 2,600 positions five years from now.

This kind of economic growth that can positively affect a region is a contributing factor for the RMCAD institution to choose partnership with the principals of Full Sail. "This day marks a significant milestone in the history of RMCAD," said Steve Steele, President. "To partner with the principals of Full Sail, which is currently one of the most forward-thinking and elite educational institutions for the entertainment, media and design industries, and bring their expertise, knowledge and passion for education to the RMCAD family, is extraordinary. Together we will take RMCAD to many new heights and I look forward to all that is to come."

Ken Goldstone, Full Sail's Chief Operating Officer further stated, "It is an honor for Full Sail to be aligned and mentioned in the same breath with Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, knowing their celebrated history and unwavering passion to instill the highest level of art and creativity based education to their students. We share in the vision and believe in the quality of RMCAD's exceptional teachings, and look forward to sharing ideas, values, and philosophies that will ultimately benefit the students in Florida, California, and now, Colorado."

About Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design:

When Philip J. Steele founded Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in 1963, his dream was to provide students with an education based on traditional art and design principles in an environment that fostered personal meaning and growth. From years of working as an artist and teacher, he understood that in order to provide a quality education it was essential that students have the opportunity to study with professional artists and designers who could both teach the courses and guide students as they sought to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. The College continues to reflect this vision today.

Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design offers fully-accredited BFA degrees in:
Fine Arts including Painting, Sculpture and Photography & Video Art. Additional degrees include: Illustration, 2-D Animation, 3-D Animation, Interior Design, Art Education, and Graphic Design & Interactive Media.

The individual artists who choose to study at RMCAD come from wildly diverse backgrounds. Despite their varied backgrounds, they are all united in one thing: they share a passion for creative thinking and cherish the opportunity to develop their abilities in RMCAD's unique and collaborative environment.
