Greening the Government Through Leadership in Environmental Management.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 13, 2007
Dolphin Blue, a provider of environmentally responsible office supplies, is pleased to announce the availability of the first 100 percent recyclable cut sheet printer label to the market. Pinnacle Label’s Recyclabels® line of cut sheet printer labels is manufactured with 100 percent post consumer recycled and certified processed chlorine free face stock, recyclable backing material and recyclable permanent adhesive. Additionally, users are now able to easily recycle the face stock, because the adhesive material is designed to be responsibly recyclable. Recyclabels are exclusively available at Dolphin Blue’s Web site: http://www.dolphinblue.com.
Pinnacle Label, Inc. (Pinnacle) is a market leader in the manufacturing of self adhesive labels. The company excels in the production of stock and custom cut sheet labels for electronic imaging equipment and sheet fed offset presses.
Clean Edge Technology® is Pinnacle’s proprietary manufacturing process. Clean Edge Technology eliminates the adhesive from the outer 1/16" of the label sheet. Heat and pressure from printers can force adhesives out of the sides of many label sheets. Eliminating the adhesive at the edge of the sheet also eliminates seepage. The benefits to the end users include fewer paper jams and lower maintenance costs.
“Manufacturers should all take notes from Pinnacle. They took a product that most see as a disposable commodity and made the product as environmentally responsible as it can get,” said Thomas Kemper, CEO and founder of Dolphin Blue. “We urge other manufacturers in the office supply industry to have the same forward-thinking approach.”
Recyclabels were created in direct response to former President Clinton’s Executive Order 13148 section 702 “Greening the Government Through Leadership in Environmental Management.” Recyclabels® cut sheet printer labels are off to a good start because they have recently been assigned National Stock Numbers with the General Services Administration (GSA), supporting the Federal Government’s green initiatives in buying products that create a sustainable planet.
“We decided to allow Dolphin Blue to sell Recyclabels because we respect its brand and the company’s ability to sell recycled products,” stated Ches Cochran, president of Pinnacle. “We look forward to creating other products for Dolphin Blue. With Tom Kemper’s connections, leadership and expertise in the provision of green office products, we know that this agreement marks the beginning of a profitable relationship.”
General product specifications for Recyclabels® are as follows:
- Multi-purpose labels for laser and inkjet printers, copiers and digital or offset
- Laser & inkjet guaranteed

- 100 percent recyclable adhesive

Preceding this agreement, Dolphin Blue has worked with manufacturers to bring products to market. The company played a hand in producing the first and only 80 percent post consumer recycled content CD sleeve. Bioneers, a sustainability education group, wanted CD sleeves that were made from environmentally responsible material.
Kemper and his team at Dolphin Blue scoured the market seeking a CD sleeve made with recycled content. Upon finding such a sleeve did not exist, Dolphin Blue contracted with a manufacturer to produce one that is made of 80 percent post consumer recycled 16-point, ultra bright white paperboard, which is also comprised of 20 percent FSC-Certified pulp. This product is now widely available on the company’s Web site.
For the U.S. Postal Service, Dolphin Blue facilitated the development of the first envelope made from 100 percent post consumer recycled and certified processed chlorine free waste paper, supporting the USPS’ Saving of America’s Resources (SOAR) “buy recycled” initiative. By buying paper products made of recycled materials, the U.S. Postal Service ensures its steady supply of Undeliverable Bulk Business Mail (UBBM), otherwise destined for the landfill, has a second and sustainable life through successful recycling.
