Halloween Paws: Los Angeles Animal Training Showcases

Grads, pets in costume for cchallenging series OF TV spots.

(PRWEB) December 14, 2007 -- For its Halloween 2007 feature, Scripps Consumer News decided to showcase the year's hottest costumes - on four-legged trick-or-treaters. The Los Angeles-based animal-training academy Hollywood Paws was enlisted to put on the dog, and graduates from its training program got their first taste of the spotlight. The dogs, dressed as cowboys, brides and grooms, Star Wars characters and more, had to parade out in a line and stand before the camera for 27 separate affiliate interviews.

The already daunting task of wrangling these animals amid the cameras, lights and noise (starting with a 1am call time for East Coast TV) was further complicated by the often bulky costumes, but both the Paws grads and their canine companions performed like true stars. Of the 27 segments, eight were for broadcast networks in top 25 markets; 18 were in top 50 markets; and 11 were live.
