ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Joel Beyer is a retired CIA officer with 35 years of experience as a Chief of Station in several Latin American countries. After retiring Mr. Beyer was employed, inter alia, as Security Manager for Occidental Petroleum in Pakistan; Security Director for Shell Group, Colombia; and de facto Security Manager for ECOPETROL, the national oil company of Colombia. Mr. Beyer also served as a senior consultant for Control Risks, a British security consulting firm, in Colombia and in the Philippines as General Manager. He was subsequently employed by Business Risks International/Pinkerton as a senior consultant in the management of kidnap and extortion cases worldwide. Mr. Beyer is a faculty member at Henley-Putnam University, teaching courses in security management.
