eNeighborhoods Technology Executive Appointed to Real Estate Standard Organization Board of Directors

Organization defines and promotes evolving real estate technology standards to drive industry innovation.

Boca Raton, FL. (PRWEB) December 17, 2007 -- Dan Woolley, senior vice president of technology at eNeighborhoods, a division of Dominion Enterprises, has been appointed to the Real Estate Standards Organization's (RESO) first Board of Directors. RESO, a group that defines and promotes real estate industry data transfer standards, was formed earlier this year and is sponsored by the National Association of Realtors.

Woolley is a real estate industry entrepreneur and technology leader and has held leadership roles at Realigent, Homeseekers and was a founder of real estate software company IRIS.

The Real Estate Transaction Standard (RETS) was first launched in 1999 by the National Association of Realtors and other industry groups. The creation and development of RETS is a collaborative effort to simplify moving transactional information between systems and to streamline real estate solution development efforts. In the future, RETS is expected to enable MLS organizations to simplify data-sharing policies and provide members with a single point of entry for MLS searches.

"Data standards are a key to driving real estate industry innovation. The widespread adoption of a new standard will promote the growth of new business models, solutions and partnerships," said Greg Robertson, eNeighborhoods vice president and general manager. "We at eNeighborhoods are proud that Dan is involved in the creation and evolution of data standards with RETS."

RETS provides an interface for REALTORS® to easily access data through a RETS-compliant MLS without double data entry. It also provides a simple migration path to new services or systems. State, regional or local associations that own or operate MLS systems must adopt RETS by June 2009. To learn more, visit www.rets.org.
