Blue Star Entertainment International Files Suit Against 'Pretty Ricky' Member Marcus Cooper
A lawsuit has been filed seeking damages against singer/songwriter Marcus Cooper, one of the four members of the Miami-based, R&B/Hip-Hop group "Pretty Ricky", for violation of the exclusive recording and publishing agreements he currently holds with Blue Star Entertainment International, Inc. and Blue Star Entertainment International Publishing, Inc., respectively.
Miami, FL (PRWEB) December 17, 2007 -- A lawsuit has been filed seeking damages against singer/songwriter Marcus Cooper, one of the four members of the Miami-based, R&B/Hip-Hop group "Pretty Ricky", for violation of the exclusive recording and publishing agreements he currently holds with Blue Star Entertainment International, Inc. and Blue Star Entertainment International Publishing, Inc., respectively. The suit was filed in the Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit for Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Blue Star Entertainment International and Blue Star Entertainment International Publishing have offices in Broward County, Florida. Representing the plaintiffs is Richard Charles Wolfe of Miami-based law firm Wolfe & Goldstein P.A.
"Mr. Cooper is an integral part of Pretty Ricky, just like the other three featured performers. He owes his exclusive services to Blue Star based upon standard contracts, which are the lifeblood of the recording industry," said Blue Star's attorney Richard Wolfe. "Blue Star will enforce its rights under those contracts. If he does not perform, as he has threatened, then the group will replace him and all resulting damages will be accessed against Mr. Cooper."
The plaintiffs, Blue Star Entertainment International and Blue Star Entertainment International Publishing, have filed a complaint alleging Cooper breached the terms of the recording agreement and the terms of the publishing agreement.
The lawsuit against Cooper seeks to recover damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of costs, interest and attorney's fees.
