RinkTime.com (http://www.rinktime.com), North America's leading on-line information portal, linking skating enthusiasts and rink patrons to more than 4,000 ice skating, in-line skating, roller skating, hockey and curling facilities nationwide, announced today that a community outreach program developed by the company is demonstrating good results early in the holiday season through reports received from participating rink-oriented businesses across the country as they continue to raise funds, canned foods and toys for the needy in their respective communities.

While RinkTime’s business is promoting online awareness in connecting patrons to rink businesses, RinkTime president John Kirker sought an opportunity to help these businesses rally to give back to their local communities during the holiday season. Using their marketing wherewithal and database of rink facility owners and operators, Kirker and his staff introduced a holiday 2 for 1 coupon program which affords one free skater with a donation of canned goods or wrapped toys. Kirker and his staff also bundled the program with a useful set of how-to’s and even a press release for the rink businesses as a turnkey program for their ease and success in both driving donations and new business.

“We’re proud to help make a difference, says Kirker. “Our industry is like a big community and our business is building online communities. This program has helped us to help others in reaching out to give back to the individuals in need in the real world communities where we all live.”

Numerous rinks across the US and in Canada have elected to participate and the donations are accumulating at their sites awaiting distribution to local charity organizations, shelters and children’s hospitals, to name a few.

“We don’t have any exact count and may never get one. But whether it’s one can or a truckload and it helps someone who really needs it then we’ve helped somehow, said Kirker.

And, with 250,000 visits to its web site each month, new sponsors and rink facilities participating, RinkTime plans an even greater program for its holiday canned food and toy drive next year.
