The Sheraton Safari Hotel & Suites, a premier leisure destination in Orlando, boasts the Best Hotel General Manager according to Orlando magazine. Jeff Brinda, who has been with the hotel since 1998, was recognized by hundreds of tourism industry executives throughout Central Florida as the 2008 award co-recipient.
Being honored in the hospitality industry isn't a new concept for Brinda. He was awarded General Manager of the Year from American General Hospitality in 1995, Hotelier of the Year in 2002 from the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association, and his property -- the Sheraton Safari -- the Meristar Hospitality Corporation's Hotel of the Year in 1999 as a managed hotel, and again in 2004 as an owned hotel. The Sheraton Safari hotel, under Brinda's leadership, was recognized as Starwood Hotels and Resorts Excellence in Revenue Management Award in 2005, among several other achievements.
"It's exciting to be recognized by my peers," said Jeff Brinda, the Sheraton Safari's General Manager. "My team works hard to bring a meaningful experience to every guest, and I am humbled and honored to be a part of this incredible team of professionals."
The Mall at Millennia, Orlando magazine and Where Orlando magazine decided to honor the men and women in the hospitality industry in the Orlando area by creating this newly-established award. Ballots were mailed to hotel executives throughout Central Florida, and once the outcome was determined the award-winners were honored at a celebration at the Mall at Millenia.
