Wi-Tronix®, LLC (Bolingbrook, IL) has been selected as CN's preferred remote monitoring solutions provider. The Wi-Tronix system provides CN with the benefits of ready access to locomotive on-board data, increased asset utilization, fuel conservation monitoring and improved fleet productivity. CN is deploying Wi-Tronix systems on all new EMD SD70M-2 and GE ES44DC locomotives including 85 locomotives currently being delivered in 2007.

CN's Risk Management team will benefit from automatic monitoring of locomotive digital video recorder health and operating status. The Wi-PU can be applied across CN's entire locomotive fleet, from the newest locomotive models to those with over 4 decades of service. CN's complete end-to-end solution includes onboard Wireless Processing Units (Wi PUs) and turnkey back-office hosting. The Wi-PU features seamless roaming between the US and Canada using both cellular and Wi Fi communications.
