Sabre Yachts Wins Two Top National Awards for New Sabre Spirit Daysailer

Sabre Yachts is Maine's largest recreational boat builder and has been crafting fine sail and motor yachts in South Casco, Maine since 1970. As each new design is brought to market the marine media tests and rates new models for their mission and the success the builder has demonstrated in building the finished yacht to those objectives. Sabre Yachts has this year won two Boat of the Year Awards for the new Sabre Spirit, a 36 foot daysailer designed by Jim Taylor and the Sabre Design Team.

South Casco, ME (PRWEB) December 21, 2007 -- Sabre Yachts new 36 foot sailing yacht, the Sabre Spirit, has this month been honored with two important national awards. In a crowded field of new boat entries, from US as well as foreign builders, the Sabre Spirit successfully stood out against the competition.

The judges of the Sailing World Magazine's Boat of the Year Award gave the Spirit the Boat of the Year Award in the Daysailer category. In making the award judge Alan Andrews said, "Sabre has put together a polished product that sails well and is easy to handle, both short handed and fully crewed."

I saw no other boat in the show that was as consistent in quality from the concept of the design to the execution of that design, the construction, the detailing and the fun of sailing.
The Cruising World magazine's judging panel gave the Spirit the Boat of the Year Award in the Judge's Choice category. Speaking for the panel, Steve Callahan said, "I saw no other boat in the show that was as consistent in quality from the concept of the design to the execution of that design, the construction, the detailing and the fun of sailing."

Sabre Yachts has been crafting high quality sailing yachts in South Casco since 1970. The Sabre Spirit Boat of the Year Award is the 5th such award given to the yard in the past 15 years, following the Sabre 362, Sabre 402, Sabre 452 and Sabre 386.
