Voxeo Announces General Availability of Designer 8
Voice application development tool includes updated web services standards; now available in both hosted and premise environments.

Designer has been available to Voxeo premise customers since the debut of the Prophecy 8 platform in August, and is now also available to Voxeo hosting customers. Designer 8 incorporates a new Web 2.0 interface that leverages AJAX for a significant user-interface improvement over previous versions.
Voxeo Designer streamlines development by guiding users through simple steps that enable anyone to create a VoIP or IVR application. Users can create speech-based applications, touch-tone applications or both. Designer offers steps to prompt users, gather choices, input information, integrate with web services, route calls based on data inputs or time of day and record or transfer calls. The software as a service (SaaS) model lets users manage their applications with built-in reporting, transcription and media management modules. Designer leverages Voxeo's strengths in VoiceXML, CCXML and SIP/VoIP.

Designer 8 also features improved call flow chart visualization including zoom and pan capabilities; a new "tree view" that is similar to Windows Explorer; the ability to import and export projects between Voxeo hosted and premise deployments; enhanced support for dynamically storing audio recorded during calls; and updates to support the latest web service standards including SOAP, WSDL and XML Schema. The result is a much faster interface that minimizes complexity and enhances creativity in creating voice applications.
