New Award Turns Tragedy into Greater Industry Integrity
The Ramazanov Award Foundation announces a call for nominations for the first Ramazanov Award for 2008.
West Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) December 22, 2007 -- The Ramazanov Award Foundation (RAF), a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, is dedicated to improving credibility of the US Dietary Supplement Industry. Today, the RAF invites nominations for 2008 Ramazanov Award, to be awarded in April 28-30 at SupplySide East International Tradeshow and Conference. The final deadline for nominations is February 22, 2008.
RAF was founded shortly after the tragic death of a prominent industry leader and visionary, Dr. Zakir Ramazanov. His achievements and contributions include advances in lycopene extraction technology, extraction and standardization of antioxidants from fruits and vegetables, cultivation of Spirulina; and also the introduction of Siberian Rhodiola rosea, pomegranate extract and algae-derived carotenoid fucoxanthin to the North American marketplace.
Unlike other awards in the Dietary Supplement Industry, the Ramazanov Award is not presented for a particular product or innovation. Instead, the Award and the monetary prize are given to industry professionals in recognition of their exemplary demonstration of ethical behavior and unbiased scientific integrity as determined by their peers.
The President of the Foundation, Leonid Ber, MD states: "The ultimate goal of the Foundation is to develop a network of industry professionals that demonstrate that the rigorous practice of scientific integrity can and should be an essential part of success in the natural product marketplace. We dedicate this initiative to be in the service of a larger and growing movement among industry stakeholders who are rightfully concerned about the industry credibility as a whole and who are determined to protect it and expand it."
