According to Parry, he was inspired to write the book for those who find the idea of witnessing about Jesus difficult and scary. David Vaughan Parry Sr. was born in 1963 and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Delaware County Christian School in 1981 and attended The King's College in New York. David and Christine Parry currently reside in southeastern Pennsylvania with David's son Sammy. David and his family attend Christ Community Church in West Chester. He has been involved with a number of ministries, including Top-Gun, Pioneers, Sisters-in-Service, and Sunday Breakfast Mission.

Parry has been a devout Christ-follower since 2002 and is currently writing a scripturally based categorization of the Bible, in an easy-to-read format, titled 100% Word, which will be available in late 2008.
