New English Author Gets Signed by CAA Following Significant Film Interest and the Success of his First Book
Jasper Cooper, a new self-published author from Canterbury, England, has just been signed by the world's leading talent and literary agency CAA (Creative Artists Agency). His Fantasy Adventure children's book called Candara's Gift, the first book in The Kingdom of Gems trilogy, has been attracting major film interest and the involvement of CAA will only snowball this inerest.
Canterbury, Kent, England (PRWEB) February 6, 2007 -- The LA based Creative Artists Agency, is acting as agent for English author Jasper Cooper to deal with enquiries for film rights. Jasper's first book, Candara's Gift, which became an Amazon No.1 bestseller following its launch in June 2006, is now attracting significant interest as potential for a major film. The enthusiastic Hollywood interest in turning the fantasy book into a film has delighted Jasper. He commented:
"Making The Kingdom of Gems trilogy into films had crossed my mind especially when many readers mentioned they felt it would make a great film. But I thought it would come later on when the book was more well known and had been around longer, as with J K Rowling and Harry Potter, Philip Pullman and Northern Lights (The Golden Compass) and C S Lewis and The Chronicles of Narnia. Now Candara's Gift has already caught the interest and imagination of the film world. It's a wonderful turn of events. It will make a great film."
Jasper Cooper's first book Candara's Gift has already made the first strides towards becoming a world-wide success. Jasper is in contact with many publishers around the world who have shown a positive interest in publishing the trilogy in their countries. He has already secured a contract with a Turkish publisher. In the UK Candara's Gift continues to sell well in Waterstones bookstores throughout the country. These developments are remarkable for a self published book which has had very little promotion since its online beginnings at Amazon. However Jasper is now looking for the right UK publisher to take on the Kingdom of Gems trilogy so that he can concentrate fully on his writing.
Jasper said, "I was hoping that interest in Candara's Gift would grow because it is enjoyed by readers and that is exactly what is happening. I have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of children and adults who love the book. Many children have said it is the best book they have ever read! It's been a journey of surprises."

Candara's Gift reviews and responses
One of the hallmarks of Candara's Gift, mentioned by many of its readers, is its originality. It is a unique story with unique ideas which appeals to the readers' imagination with its distinctive blend of charm and excitement.
Candara's Gift was first created by Jasper as a bed time story for his two children twelve years ago. When they kept asking for it he decided to write it down. He wrote one chapter each evening and then read it to them that night. This went on for 92 days until it was 92 chapters long. It then remained on a shelf until three years ago when Jasper took it down and worked on it, rewriting, illustrating, creating maps, designing the cover with his son, and forming it into a trilogy. Everything was done in Jasper's Canterbury home.
