MilitaryStars Returns to Ever-Popular Southeast Region with Upcoming Career Expo in Jacksonville

Military hiring event company assists military veterans in finding civilian employment. Employers utilize 'one cost, unlimited hires' policy to secure highly qualified former military talent.

(PRWEB) February 2, 2007 -- As the popularity of military hiring events increases throughout the HR and recruiting industries as a source for highly qualified talent, so does the overall quality and candidate draw of high caliber MilitaryStars hiring events.

In ramping up for its always-popular Jacksonville military career expo, MilitaryStars, the nation’s largest and most service-driven military career expo company, is again offering employers in the southeast region a source for as many hires as companies can make for one low cost.

Our events throughout the country, but specifically in this case our events in Jacksonville, yield employers who are serious about the hiring process and interested in interviewing as many former military members as they can for quality jobs
“Our events throughout the country, but specifically in this case our events in Jacksonville, yield employers who are serious about the hiring process and interested in interviewing as many former military members as they can for quality jobs,” said MilitaryStars President Todd Hecht. “Our ‘one cost, unlimited hires’ model has introduced to military-friendly employers what they needed most: qualified candidates. These events, in other words, are not ordinary job fairs.

“As a result, our events attract military job seekers who are honed in to the type of job they want and the companies that can provide that type of job. That’s why employers and job seekers alike create an environment of opportunities and success that comprises a MilitaryStars career expo,” noted Hecht.

At the career expo in Jacksonville on February 13th from noon to 4pm, over 30 military-friendly companies will be sending their hiring managers and decision-making HR personnel to actually hire veterans, both at the event and in subsequent interviews. In other words, these companies are not simply looking to gather resumes; they have immediate openings and hiring needs.

Take premium sponsors of the event defense contractor Lockheed Martin, integrated statewide sugarcane company Florida Crystals, and events and presentations firm Freeman Company: all three of these employers have immediate job openings and will be looking to gain highly sought-after talent through their attendance at the career expo in the ballrooms of the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk Hotel on the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville, where, at the last MilitaryStars expo in the region in November 2006, over 1,000 military veterans registered for the event, seeking gainful civilian employment.

The success from the last Jacksonville event was obvious: “I want to let you know that I have accepted a position with Northrop Grumman Ship Systems,” wrote one military job seeker following the Jacksonville event in November. “MilitaryStars was responsible for my employment. An email invitation sent in October ultimately led my family and me to this position. We are all very happy. Thanks so much to you and MilitaryStars!”

For their part, employers couldn’t have been more satisfied as well: “MilitaryStars consistently delivers excellent quality job seekers and is a first class organization run by professionals who are thorough right down to the last detail,” said Military Sealift Command’s Scott Edington.

“That’s what MilitaryStars is all about,” said Hecht. “Jacksonville is one of our hottest markets for military talent, both from companies needing skilled employees in the area, and from military veterans -- some newly returned from conflicts abroad -- looking to start a civilian career. There’s a substantial population of military veterans in the area, and we make it our goal to help as many veterans as we can at each event. Employers, in turn, recognize that our focus is on finding top quality military veterans top quality civilian employment, and they subsequently attend the event looking to hire these veterans.

“This happens consistently on a national level, but we’ve found that Jacksonville is an area of the country that particularly embodies our mentality of creating opportunities for military veterans. Jacksonville always puts a smile on my face.”
