Adage Graphics Sets up Huge Graphic Displays Online

A small Southern California business takes its big products into a unique virtual storefront

(PRWEB) February 6, 2007 -- Adage Graphics has excelled in large format digital displays for nearly 19 years and has never had a problem making large format digital print products for their clients that are some of the best in the industry.

The challenge for the Southern California Company has been to carve a pathway into e-commerce by implementing a shopping cart experience in an industry where very few virtual shopping carts exist.

By using high-end 3D modeling software, along with advanced rendering, I was able to create a myriad of typical scenes common to everyday uses of their products. These, in addition to an entirely new web user interface and site layout, has come together to give Adage Graphics the online
Opening up large format digital printing outside of the ‘brick and mortar’ print shop was not an easy thing to accomplish, but the results are spectacular. According to Larry Christian, President of Adage Graphics, “ninety percent of the digital graphics product purchased involves custom printing specifications. It’s not like shopping for a book or DVD” at Amazon or Barnes&Noble.

With dozens of different print media, mounting and lamination options and nearly limitless sizes available, “we couldn’t see a way to pin down our products into an online storefront. Confining our customer’s choices to certain sizes of banners or posters was not an option,” states Christian.

As distributors of Expand International’s line of trade show and marketing display products, Adage Graphics decided to focus the online shopping cart experience to those specific types of large graphic products.

Large trade show displays, some as big as nineteen feet wide by seven and a half feet tall, complete with colorful graphics can now be purchased in just a few clicks. This is not just another online store, but a visual store that has taken months of work to make user friendly and bring the full impact of the Expand Media line to the consumer. “We have worked many hours with Expand making sure they were pleased with how we are presenting their products,” he added.

Expand International invented the retractable banner stand, a landmark and ever popular marketing tool. Adage Graphics is one of the first retail graphic companies to offer the newest retractable banner stand online: the Expand MediaScreen 2 Outdoor. The new MediaScreen is the first outdoor retractable banner stand and is the only portable outdoor retractable banner stand designed to flex in the wind.

Helping visitors visualize the scope of large format prints proved challenging as well. The site is full of amazing 3D graphic media scenes which help demonstrate the printing scale possibilities to new and future clients.

Online order forms allow graphics shoppers to place custom orders of large format prints. This gives Adage clients the flexibility to place requests for banners, posters, point-of-purchase, standees, etc. in nearly whatever dimensions they need.

“Adage Graphics was in a position of needing to be able to show plausible and convincing depictions of a wide range of their most popular products--so that they could be understood in a proper real-world context. Although Adage has photos of their large print work displayed at various venues, many of their top tier and entertainment clients want Adage to remain anonymously "behind the scenes." By using high-end 3D modeling software, along with advanced rendering, I was able to create a myriad of typical scenes common to everyday uses of their products. These, in addition to an entirely new web user interface and site layout, has come together to give Adage Graphics the online "virtual store front" they were seeking plus a whole new brand identity," states Thomas Whitfield, the site's creator and lead designer.

“The new Adage Graphics site is a great example of how even very large and highly customized digital print products can be made easier to visualize and purchase, given our new system,” Whitfield added.
