Top Book Publisher HarperCollins Partners with BlogHer, the Number One Women's Blogging Community, to Launch Virtual Book Tour

BlogHer LLC (http://blogher.org) today announced that HarperCollins Publishers has chosen the BlogHer Advertising Network and Community as the venue for a three-month event, the HarperCollins Virtual Book Tour. HarperCollins breaks new ground by committing to an ongoing campaign to facilitate conversations about their books across an online community.Harper Collins will promote nine titles on BlogHer.org and across BlogHer's advertising network of women bloggers during the event.

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) February 8, 2007 -- BlogHer LLC (http://blogher.org) today announced that HarperCollins Publishers has chosen the BlogHer Advertising Network and Community as the venue for a three-month event, the HarperCollins Virtual Book Tour. HarperCollins breaks new ground by committing to an ongoing campaign to facilitate conversations about their books across an online community.

Beginning February 11, HarperCollins will promote the first of nine titles via BlogHer. Three times a month, at least 25 review copies of a new title will be sent to members of the community who request them through BlogHer's Virtual Book Tour Page, located at http://blogher.org/node/15258. Bloggers are invited to post their reviews and participate in book title discussions on their own blogs and on BlogHer.org, which includes a directory of more than 7,100 blogs.

In a 2006 survey of women who read the blogs in its ad network, BlogHer reported that 32 percent spent at least $100 purchasing books online in the past six months. And more than half of women who read blogs in the BlogHer Ad Network also blog themselves, providing a forum to publicly share recommendations and reviews.

Among the titles that will be promoted in the Virtual Book Tour are Babyproofing Your Marriage by Stacie Cockrell, Cathy O'Neill, and Julia Stone; What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman; Men May Come and Men May Go, but I've Still Got My Little Pink Raincoat by Gigi Anders; Sanity Savers: Tips for Women to Live a Balanced Life by Dale Vicky Atkins and Barbara Scala; and How Elizabeth Barrett Browning Saved My Life by Mameve Medwed.
