ValentineWall.com to Donate 50% of All Sales to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
Valentine Website joins the fight against breast cancer with a unique Valentine's Day gift idea.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 11, 2007 -- ValentineWall.com announced today that it will donate 50% of all the proceeds from the sale of their online Valentine Cards to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
The website, which launched last month, offers permanent online Valentine's Day Cards that are displayed on the site's homepage. The cards, which are square sections of the homepage, range in price from $1 to $200 with the more expensive cards appearing at the top of the list.
Website owner Robert Henegar, who lost his mother to breast cancer in 2006, said that the decision to donate the money came about when someone mentioned buying a card for a loved one with breast cancer. "It occurred to me that this would be a great way for people to honor someone who faced cancer, and help support the fight against the disease at the same time." One of the site's cards is now dedicated to the memory of his mother.
Although the online cards were never meant to replace real cards, the reasoning behind the online version is simple according to Henegar. "Since our cards will be online for years to come, expressing your feelings in an online card is like writing them into the history books," he said, adding that the real value comes from being able to go back and read cards from previous years.
The official sale ends the day after Valentine's Day, but those wishing to buy honorary cards will still be able to purchase any unsold spots until mid-March, when the site will make it's donation and close up shop until next year.
Happy Valentine's Day.
