Fitness4Diabetics.com Offers Customized Nutrition and Exercise Coaching for People with Diabetes

Fitness4Diabetics.com provides one-on-one exercise and nutrition coaching for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Working in partnership with member's physicians, coaches work with diabetics who want to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles. Coaching team is comprised of Certified Diabetic Educators including nurses, registered dietitians and exercise physiologists.

New York City, NY (PRWEB) February 22, 2007 -- Whether you are a weekend warrior, a serious athlete or a person with diabetes who wants to improve your lifestyle through an integrated exercise and nutrition program, Fitness4Diabetics.com's team of Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) would like to become your personal fitness coach.

Fitness4Diabetics.com provides one-on-one exercise and nutrition coaching and support for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes who want to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles in partnership with a team of CDEs comprised of nurses, registered dietitians and exercise physiologists.

Fitness4Diabetics.com Founder and CEO David Weingard, who is a Type 1 diabetic and one of the few diabetics in the world to complete an Ironman triathlon competition, said, "Our goal is to empower people with diabetes to exercise regularly and improve their nutrition plan, lower their A1C level (average blood glucose) and minimize the health consequences of the disease. The Fitness4Diabetics.com coaches support our members in adopting a healthy lifestyle incorporating exercise and nutrition -- that can be integrated within their lives.

"The two most important things that people with diabetes can do to minimize the disease's negative health consequences, besides taking medication, is to improve their fitness and nutrition," Weingard said.

Fitness4Diabetics.com coaches use Internet and mobile technologies to stay in touch with clients on a regular basis. The coaches also hold bi-monthly web seminars and distribute e-newsletters to share information and answer specific questions. In early February, Fitness4Diabetics.com offered a webinar on heart disease and diabetes and has scheduled a Feb. 21 webinar on diabetes and exercise. Other webinar topics include March 6, The Danger of Fad Diets; March 21, Strength Training and Diabetes; April 3, Goal Setting, and April 18, Stress Management and Diabetes. Subscriptions to the e-newsletters and web seminars are available at no charge by logging onto Fitness4Diabetics.com and joining the subscriber list.

Fitness4Diabetics.com's core program includes a health assessment with input and guidance from each client's physician; customized exercise and nutrition coaching for four months; referrals to approved personal trainers; e-mail and phone support, and progress and results reports that are provided to each client's physician. Fitness4Diabetics.com also offers exercise-only and nutrition-only plans as well as maintenance plan for clients who have completed the core program.

Through Internet and mobile technologies, Fitness4Diabetics.com is able to offer their coaching services nationwide. "Normally, professional guidance is limited by the geographic location of caregivers, multiple on-site visits to specialists and is not integrated as part of a holistic treatment program," Weingard said. "For many people with diabetes, an integrated exercise and nutrition program with a continuous support system can be cost prohibitive."

Fitness4Diabetics.com will work with serious athletes training to maximize their performance at periodic events; weekend warriors who engage periodically in demanding sports; people who regularly work out at their health clubs or homes, or fitness "wannabes" who are convinced they need to lose weight and increase their physical activity but need guidance and encouragement.

"Our coaching team will prepare integrated exercise and nutrition plans that are customized to each diabetic's unique medical situation and goals," Weingard said.

"We want to work with clients to help them realize their goals of athletic achievement, exercise routine, weight loss, lowered A1C levels and reduced blood glucose fluctuations."
