(PRWEB) February 28, 2007 -- Applied Informatics Software Engineering GmbH (http://www.appinf.com/), the experts in software development tools for cross-platform development, announces the availability of Release Candidate 1 of Rapide. Rapide is Applied Informatics' integrated development environment (IDE) for embedded Linux application development under both Windows and Linux host systems.

Rapide is based on Eclipse CDT (C/C++ Development Tools) and comes with GCC based toolchains that support cross-compilation on both Windows or Linux hosts. Additional Rapide features include:

  • POCO C++ class libraries
  • wizards for new project creation and the import of GNU Autoconf based Open Source projects
  • a powerful cross-platform build system

A free CD evaluating Rapide++ is available by registering at http://www.appinf.com/en/services/rapide.html.
