Rochester, MI (PRWEB) March 28, 2007 -- Two young Michigan men, Ric Alessio, 21, and Zack Goodreau, 19, inspired by their faith and the creativity of modern life, have chosen to put their efforts and their life into creating a new opportunity for Christian art.
They created The Anti Shop (www.TheAntiShop.com), an online store dedicated to bringing together independent and underground Christian clothing companies (creative t-shirts, hoodies, hats, jewelry, accessories, even jeans) as well as Christian musicians and recording artists. After having run a bricks-and-mortar store in a Michigan town which blended elements of a skateshop and clothing boutique, the two decided to turn their attention to the Internet in order to reach more people with their hard-to-find and unique offerings.
Set to launch March 1 with a full-page ad in RELEVANT magazine, a publication aimed at the late teens to late twenties Christian young adult, the site features a wide variety of artistic apparel, including many t-shirts, as well as hoodies, track jackets, blazers, pants, long-sleeve and fashion tees, polos, jewelry, and other items crafted by young and up-and-coming Christian designers and companies. The apparel companies on offer include Ephraim Clothing, Truth Soul Armor, Believe Clothing, Onetruth, Souldog Clothing, Emunah Clothing, Naive Clothing, Thorn Clothing and Apostle Clothing. In addition, it offers a large selection of music by Christian artists (including those who produce "secular" music but whose faith influences their work), including recent releases, as well as pre-orders for upcoming releases. The site also offers many band t-shirts.
"Our vision was to make available to the general public some of the incredible talent of these small Christian clothing companies and musicians who would otherwise have gone unnoticed by most people. We are out to challenge the idea that Christian creativity is inferior and outdated, and provide products that are artistic, cutting-edge, excellent in quality and design, heartfelt, honest, and coming from the background of a Christian worldview."
Ric is also the owner of his own clothing line, Believe Clothing (www.believeUSA.com), as well as a graphic designer and musician. At 19 and 21, Zack and Ric are endeavoring to change their world by bringing faith-based art, music and clothing design to the forefront. The duo hopes to be seen at major festivals in the near future.
