Ohio Savings Bank Names New President

Peter Goldberg has been named president of Ohio Savings Bank/AmTrust Bank.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) March 1, 2007 -- Peter Goldberg has been named president of Ohio Savings Bank/AmTrust Bank. He is the eighth president in the 118-year history of this Cleveland-based financial institution, which offers competitive bank CD rates and money market rates.

Peter Goldberg has worked in various capacities at the bank for more than 15 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, and has been instrumental in the expansion of the organization.

Just over a year ago, Goldberg spearheaded the development and introduction of AmTrust Direct (www.amtrustdirect.com), an internet-based resource offering high rate CD and high-yield Money Market Savings Accounts. Since its launch in early 2006, AmTrust Direct has gathered more than $1 billion in new deposits and consistently offered some of the highest rates in the country on CD and Money Market Savings Accounts, earning numerous awards from Bankrate.com and others for its high rates and great service.

Goldberg has also played a key role in driving Ohio Savings' reputation as a technology and business innovator. Among his accomplishments is the introduction of one of the nation's first online banking sites - Ohiosavings.com - in 1996; and the development of a paperless mortgage process currently in use by Ohio Savings' mortgage banking business.
Ohio Savings Bank currently has nearly $18 billion in assets, and is one of the 20 largest home mortgage lenders in the U.S. The bank's AmTrust division, which began in Florida in 1989, now consists of 17 branches in southeast Florida, and 7 branches in the Phoenix, Arizona market.

Founded in Cleveland on Valentine's Day in 1889, Ohio Savings maintains a strong commitment to the area, with its original branch office (located at 1866 West 25th Stret) still in operation today, along with 34 other branch locations throughout the northeast Ohio, Akron and Columbus markets. For more information, contact the Ohio Savings Bank public relations office at (216) 588-5310, or visit the bank's websites at www.ohiosavings.com or www.amtrust.com.
