Mendocino, CA (PRWEB) March 1, 2007 -- Celebrating the Whale Festivals in Mendocino, March 1 2008, and in Fort Bragg March 17, 18, 2008, Pacific Mist Inn and Cabins announced that throughout the month of March, they are offering a special for travelers to the Mendocino Coast, if a guest books any room or cabin for 2 nights, the third night is for free. With some 20,000 gray whales migrating north from birthing grounds in Mexico to their winter home in Alaska, there will be plenty of whales to view along the northern California throughout the month of March.

Whale Festival 2007 activities are planned at three state parks in unison with the Mendocino and Fort Bragg Whale Festival celebrations on March 3, 4, and 17 & 18. The activities are centered on three spectacular whale viewing vantage points: The Point Cabrillo Light Station, MacKerricher State Park in Fort Bragg and the Ford House Visitors Center at Mendocino Headlands State Park.

In Mendocino, more than 20 wineries will set up tasting stations in inns, galleries and shops throughout Mendocino Village and Little River, while the area's top chefs produce their favorite seafood chowders in a tasting event. A marine mammal art exhibit, live outdoor painting demonstrations and docent-led walks are all part of the two-day festival.

In Fort Bragg, Microbrew tasting and whale watching will be the featured attractions of the 25th Annual Fort Bragg Whale Festival March 17 and 18. Along with dozens of microbrews provided by the Fort Bragg Rotary Club, the area's top chefs will produce their favorite chowders. A marine mammal art exhibit and crafts fair are also part of the two-day festival.

More than 40 wooden whales, decorated by local artists, will be displayed throughout Fort Bragg businesses. The Whale Festival 2007 is a perfect time and place to enjoy nature while learning more about the mysterious ocean giants who swim near the Mendocino coastline.

After viewing the whales be sure to come relax at Pacific Mist's spa in the forest.

Pacific Mist Inn and Cabins is located conveniently only 2 miles from the beautiful Van Damme Beach and Park where you can hike among waterfalls, fern canyons, redwoods, conifers and the famous Pygmy Forest.
