Noixia Eliminates Possible Cancer Threat from Blackhead Removal Product

Even though the FDA does not consider a family of cosmetic preservatives called "parabens" a serious health threat, Noixia has decided to eliminate parabens from its blackhead removal cream.

Notwithstanding, the Food and Drug Administration believes that there is no reason for consumers to be concerned about the use of cosmetics containing parabens. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) concurs with the FDA's finding.

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review is an industry-sponsored organization that reviews cosmetic ingredient safety and publishes its results in public, peer-reviewed literature. The CIR examined the safety level of parabens in 1984 and again in 2005 because of growing concerns over the carcinogenic potential of parabens. Upon both examinations, the CIR deemed parabens safe for use in cosmetic products at levels of up to 25%. Most cosmetics only contains less than half a percent of parabens.
