Academy of Art University Hosts Advertising and Marketing Industry Diversity Job Fair and Leadership Conference

Academy of Art University is partnering with Bay Area Interactive Group (BIG), Adrants and Business Development Institute (BDI), to bring the first ever Advertising Industry Diversity Job Fair and Leadership Conference to San Francisco on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 8:30a to 5:30p, at the Academy of Art University.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 4, 2007 -- Academy of Art University is partnering with Bay Area Interactive Group (BIG), Adrants and Business Development Institute (BDI), to bring the first ever Advertising Industry Diversity Job Fair and Leadership Conference to San Francisco on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 8:30a to 5:30p, at the Academy of Art University. This event was created specifically to address under-represented groups- minority, female, and GLBT.

As the Bay Area's population grows more diverse, the Academy of Art University strives to find career opportunities for all students in their chosen field. "We are excited to partner with some of the industry's top influencers in producing an event that focuses on opportunities for under represented groups. Our students, alumni, and the community will surely benefit from this exciting partnership," commented Melinda Mettler, Director of the School of Advertising.

The morning session "Leadership Conference" features the keynote speaker Larry Harris - EVP, DraftFCB, a recognized thought leader in advancing diversity in the advertising industry. Other high-profile speakers and recognized thought leaders will be discussing the topic of diversity as well as educating job seekers on what it is like to pursue a career in advertising.

The afternoon session (2:00p to 5:30p) "Job Fair" will connect face-to-face, qualified job candidates who are interested in advertising careers with exhibiting industry employers. Some of the companies represented include: BBDO West, DraftFCB, Organic, Inc., Modem Media, Carol H. Williams Advertising, T-3, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and Community Connect among others.
