Cheltenham Festival - Kauto Star Tops JumpingJockey.com Horse Racing Free Tips

JumpingJockey.com confirms free tips for the Cheltenham Festival and lists current ante post horse racing favorites for online sports betting fans.

London, UK (PRWEB) March 4, 2007 -- In keeping with JumpingJockey.com's policy of providing free advice for big events, online betting and racing fans of the most popular horse races in the UK will receive free tips and advice once again from the jumpingjockey.com team (http://www.jumpingjockey.com).

JumpingJockey.com published their ante-post favorites, they are as follows;

Champion Hurdle - Detroit City.

Detroit City, trained by P J Hobbs and ridden by Richard Johnson was originally the second choice behind last years winner Brave Inca, however, this young horse was devastating in the totesport Cesarewitch, a flat race!, and has since confirmed form over hurdles against the likes of Hardy Eustace, Straw Bear with Hardy Eustace beating Brave Inca a few weeks later. The only negative is Detroit City's age, he's simply too young according to the stats, however, he's been so strong and fast, the winner of the Champion Hurdle will be whoever can beat him.

Queen Mother Chase - Well Chief.

Well Chief, trained by David Pipe and ridden by Timmy Murphy hadn't run since 2005, he came back and took on the might Ashley Brook at Newbury and won easily by 11 lengths. This is the horse that finished two lengths behind the even more incredible Moscow Flyer and beat a jumpingjockey.com favourite Kicking King previously. The first run since 2005 was amazing and unfortunately for everyone else, he'll improve for the run.

The Arkle - Fair Along.

Fair Along, trained by PJ Hobbs and ridden by Richard Johnson, won his last race by forty six lengths, also beat the early Arkle favourite My Way De Solzen by ten lengths. Hard to see who can beat this horse in this event, in fact, the Hobbs yard are already planning for big races beyond Cheltenham such is their confidence.

Triumph Hurdle - Katchit

Katchit, trained by A King, ridden by Robert Thornton, has won his last three races and beat some very notable horses in Pauillac, Predateur and Pancake in what had been deemed the strongest juvenile hurdle race so far this season. There are question marks, Alan Kings own comments regarding Eoin Griffin's Lounaos, fourth behind Hardy Eustace and Brave Inca last time out, Alan King is concerned about the 7lb weight Katchit must give to Lounaos hence favouritism currently in the markets for Lounaos, Punjabi is also another highly respected danger along with the much hyped 'Mountain' trained by Jonjo O'Neil.

Royal Sun Alliance - Denman.

Denman, trained by Paul Nicholls and ridden by Ruby Walsh. Denman should be a gold cup winner in the future, Ruby Walsh has named Denman his banker for the Festival. Last season, Paul Nicholls touted this horse as the star in his stable, given the fact that this stable has the likes of Kauto Star, the mind boggles at Denman's potential, this is a real horse with just one loss in his career 9 starts ( 2nd in his only losing race). He's a real destroyer winning his last race, a class 2, by 36 lengths and that includes being eased down and still on the bridle, this is a one horse race if he's fit and ready. He's notoriously difficult to get fit, this is believed to have led to his loss last season. This year, the Nicholls power house is taking no chances and have adjusted his preparations accordingly.

World Hurdle - Black Jack Ketchum.

Black Jack Ketchum, trained by Jonjo O'Neil, ridden by AP McCoy. Jonjo had previously been reluctant to run his star on very soft and heavy ground suspecting that he wont cope. Unfortunately, with the going conditions being predicted as soft at best at Cheltenham, he was forced to confirm whether or not Black Jack Ketchum could handle the going or not. The result was that he finished a distant 5th to Blazing Baily, a horse which he beat easily on better ground whilst still on the bridle. Jonjo has since said that he'll never run his star in such conditions again and has warned that he'll pull Black Jack Ketchum from the World Hurdle if need be.

This race was originally tipped to be won by Inglis Drever at the start of the season by JumpingJockey.com, however, with Black Jack Ketchum running and winning and no news of Inglis Drever plans at the time, the team were forced to drop Inglis Drever. The 'Drever' has since appeared in November 06 and January 07 improving each time, he's looking much sharper second time out and will no doubt improve again. If the going gets better, the race will be between Black Jack Ketchum and the Drever, if Black Jack Ketchum pulls out, the JumpingJockey.com team believe the winner will be Inglis Drever.

Gold Cup - Kauto Star.

Trained by Paul Nicholls, ridden by Ruby Walsh. Five wins from five class 1 races this season. 2nd highest rating ever for a chaser behind the legendary Desert Orchid. After Dessies passing, much was said about how Dessie was allowed to run in various races at various distances whilst todays trainers wrap their stars in cotton wool. The Connections of Kauto Star took this on board and followed Dessies lead and had him take on the best at 2m, 2 1/2m and 3m, and he beat them all. The only time another top chaser came close was when Kauto Star made a mistake but his ability to kick into another gear and repel any rival even contemplating trying to go past him was evident and winning was never in doubt.

The JumpingJockey.com pick was originally Kicking King pre season, he was eventually taken off the ant post list once confirmed out for the season but the team felt that given Kauto Star's performances, chances are Kicking King would have been dropped from the ante post favourite list anyway. The Gold Cup this year will be about Kauto Star, if he stays on his feet, he'll win. The only talking point is who will be there to pick up the pieces, this is a short list and will likely be War Of Attrition, Our Vic, Exotic Dancer and Racing Demon.

JumpingJockey.com ( http://www.jumpingjockey.com ) tips will include short price lays (odds of 3/1 and below), forecast favourite and second favourite lays based on tissue price as published by the Racing Post, favourite backers (win) tips and long priced/value back (win and place) tips. In addition, there will also be 'market watch' tips as well for both lay and back. These tips enable online gamblers and racing fans to monitor the smart money for weak favourites to lay and potentially strong favourites to back.
