STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN (Vocus) March 15, 2007
Bemz, the Swedish company that designs loose covers for IKEA sofas and chairs, has added a new collection to its popular online portfolio of practical, stylish fabrics. The new StudioLine collection, available in two different styles, is produced in beautiful, two-color interwoven textiles from one of Sweden's most eminent cotton producers: Borås Cotton. Bemz launched its service for U.S. consumers in 2006.
"With StudioLine, we decided to experiment with a fabric that would provide a textured, two-tone style that emphasizes clean, structured lines in sofas and chairs," says Bemz founder Lesley Pennington. "I love the look, feel and durability of Borås Cotton so we approached the famous Borås Wäfveri textile company to manufacture them for us. The results are stunning."
StudioLine consists of two different fabrics, available in different colors:
- Sybury is designed for more conventional tastes and décors. This is a very traditional, elegant textile woven in two harmonious, discrete colors that convey class and elegance.
- For a more contemporary look and a bold statement, the Sprezzatura style is ideal. Sprezzatura features strong colors and a heavily textured style.
Sybury is available in tones of Midnight Grey, Dove Grey and Brown. Sprezzatura is available in Fuschia, Orange, Black/White and Brown/Blue.
"It doesn't cost a fortune to give your living room a new look with extra-special Swedish style," adds Pennington. "Bemz prices are very affordable, and because American consumers don't have to pay European sales tax, the lower purchase price means that Bemz products shipped to American consumers cost about the same as they do for Europeans--and that includes shipping via UPS air."
Borås Wäfveri has been designing and producing textiles since 1870, and several of Sweden's best-known designers have produced creations using its textiles. Today, the company is one of Northern Europe's biggest textiles producers, and under the Borås Cotton brand it develops, produces and sells interior textiles for home and public environments, as well as upholstery fabrics and bed linen for homes.
