Cebu, Philippines (PRWEB) April 30, 2007 -- The Cebu ICT 2007 International Conference and Exhibition will formally open with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as keynote speaker June 26. It will feature leading industry executives and authoritative speakers in compelling discussions focusing on opportunities and threats for Asia's emerging IT-enabled services (ITES) industry, fostering and funding Asian innovation, and the workforce and evolving ICT/ITES hub development models, according to the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

Scheduled June 26-28, 2007, Cebu ICT 2007 will highlight Asia's potential as a premier investment and outsourcing destination despite increasing competition around the world. Panel discussions will be led by speakers such as Christopher Beshouri, president of McKinsey and Company Philippines; Lawrence Hughes, InfoWeapons chairman, founder and chief technology officer; William Pesek of Bloomberg; and Dr. S. Sadagopan of the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B).

Beshouri, who will share insights on the Asian ITES market, heads McKinsey and Company's practice in the Philippines. His primary practice area is financial institutions, and he has worked with banks, central banks and capital market players across Asia. In addition to his leadership of the Philippine practice, Beshouri also plays a regional role in Asia for McKinsey's Asia practice. In this capacity, he works closely with the seven practice managers, six location managers, and McKinsey's head of Asia to manage a broad portfolio of initiatives focused on operating and building McKinsey's presence in 12 Asian countries.

Hughes is introductory speaker for a panel on Asian innovation. InfoWeapons is headquartered in Georgia, USA with engineering and sales offices in Cebu. A member of the IPv6 Forum, the firm is among the first technology companies to create and sell IPv6-ready network appliances and the only one to seamlessly support both IPv4 and IPv6. Prior to InfoWeapons, Hughes was a senior security consultant at VeriSign, where he created and taught the company's certification courseware internationally.

Pesek, Asia-Pacific columnist for Bloomberg News, will moderate and comment on a number of panel discussions. Based in Tokyo, he provides opinions and commentary on economics, business, markets and politics throughout the region. He has worked for Bloomberg in Asia since July 2001, and his columns routinely appear in the International Herald Tribune, The Australian, The Straits Times, The Japan Times and many other publications around Asia and the globe. He writes a monthly column for Bloomberg Markets magazine and is a regular on Bloomberg Television.

Sadagopan obtained his Ph.D. from Purdue University, and taught for more than 20 years at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore before taking up his present position as the director of IIIT-B. The institution is a model of Public-Private-Partnership that has set a new benchmark for the higher education system in India.

Plenary sessions take place at the Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort June 26. The exhibition will take place at the Cebu International Conference Center June 26-28. For information and to register, visit www.cebuict2007.com.
