Ohio Savings Bank to Change Name to Amtrust Bank

Effective April 23, Ohio Savings Bank will change its name to AmTrust Bank.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 25, 2007 -- Effective April 23, Ohio Savings Bank will change its name to AmTrust Bank. The name change is not the result of a sale, or the purchase of another bank, or a merger. No locations have changed, nor have people or practices or values. The bank will simply change its name.

Why? Throughout the continental United States, the AmTrust division has been an established presence since 1989. There are currently 26 AmTrust Bank branches located in the south Florida and Phoenix, Arizona market areas, specializing in providing consumers with competitive CD rates, high yield money market accounts and high interest savings accounts. In addition, AmTrust is one of the 20 largest home mortgage lenders in the country, and is a leader in commercial construction lending as well. In the past year, the bank has expanded its presence globally with the introduction of www.amtrustdirect.com, an online-only resource offering high rate CD and Money Market accounts.

In terms of direct impact to our Ohio customers, it will be business as usual. Account numbers, checks, ATM, debit and credit cards, online banking access, loan payments, etc., all will remain the same
"Due to our rapid nationwide growth, we felt the time was right to unify our brand and consolidate all areas and lines of business under one name," said Peter Goldberg, president of AmTrust Bank. "Though we were founded in Cleveland, Ohio more than 118 years ago, and the Ohio Savings name is well known in Ohio, the AmTrust name more accurately reflects who we are today."

The name change will be most noticeable in Ohio. Letters announcing the name change have been mailed to all Ohio customers, and the 35 former Ohio Savings branches (located in Cleveland, Akron and Columbus) will be displaying new AmTrust Bank signage and marketing elements - inside and out.

"In terms of direct impact to our Ohio customers, it will be business as usual. Account numbers, checks, ATM, debit and credit cards, online banking access, loan payments, etc., all will remain the same," said Jeremy Goldberg, senior vice president of retail banking. "Along with the name change, customers will notice a change in our branch interiors, which are being updated to better convey our extensive product line -and superior customer service."

AmTrust Bank currently has more than $18 billion in assets. Originally founded in Cleveland on Valentine's Day in 1889, the bank maintains a strong commitment to the area, with its downtown headquarters office tower (formerly Ohio Savings Plaza, now AmTrust Bank Center) at 1801 East Ninth Street, and its original branch office (located at 1866 West 25th Street) still in operation today. AmTrust Direct has always paid among the top interest rates in the country, and its e-Money Market, currently pays an everyday rate of 5.36% APY.
