Canonical Ltd, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, today announced it has signed an agreement with Savoir-Faire to deliver 'Ubuntu Certified Professional' (UCP) training in Canada. Savoir-Faire will deliver official courses in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa-Gatineau from May 2007.

London, UK (PRWEB) April 30, 2007 -- Canonical Ltd, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, today announced it has signed an agreement with Savoir-Faire to deliver 'Ubuntu Certified Professional' (UCP) training in Canada. Savoir-Faire will deliver official courses in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa-Gatineau from May 2007.

Two five day courses, Ubuntu Professional Courses 1 & 2, will assist System Administrators in passing the required LPI 101, LPI 102 and the Ubuntu 199 exams, and achieve the Ubuntu Certified Professional certification. These courses are the first in a series of classroom and e-learning courses scheduled for launch throughout 2007.

"Savoir-Faire was a natural partner for Ubuntu training in Canada. They promote and assist open source and Linux deployments in companies across Canada with training, an integral part of wide adoption. Having them on board will provide the companies now deploying Ubuntu with training for their employees," commented Chris Kenyon, business development director at Canonical.

Maxime Chambreuil, training & partnership director at Savoir-faire Linux continued, "The Ubuntu distribution, as well as Canonical professional services target our market: large organizations and public administrations, small and medium size companies willing to get the control back over their information system. The outstanding stability of the Ubuntu server version and the user friendliness of the desktop one enable a unified offering, enabling the reduction of maintenance and support costs of their infrastructure. This partnership is a unique opportunity for Canada and most of our customers will make the most out of it. The training offering enables us to provide our customers with an expertise and a proximity support adapted to their needs, from one coast to the other."

The first Ubuntu Professional course will open in Montreal and Quebec on 14th May 2007.
