Airplane Enthusiasts Dream Day at YVR – Vancouver International Airport

Airplane Enthusiasts Dream Day at YVR – Vancouver International Airport - Vancouver Aviation Collectibles Show and BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) Open House

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 3, 2006 -- May 6, 2006 will see the merging of two great aviation events. The BCIT Airport campus annual Open House and the 3rd Annual YVR Aviation Collectables show, all under one building easily noticeable by its arched roof - the former Canadian Pacific hanger located on the South Side of the Vancouver International Airport.

For aviation enthusiasts, this is a daydream come true.

The BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) Open House is a unique opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to get behind the scenes and be able to not only see aircraft up close but also to get a chance to see how a lot of the work that is involved with aircraft maintenance gets done. There will be demonstrations of techniques used throughout the day as well as models and full sized aircraft to tour. Have you ever wanted to see the cockpit of a 737? Well, you can at the BCIT Open House where they have a fully operational Westjet 737-200 for you to tour at the show.

This year BCIT has added a bonus for their visitors, the YVR Aviation Collectibles Show to its open house. Now in its third year, the YVR Aviation collectables show has become Canada’s largest. The collectable show includes dozens of tables of new, antique & branded aviation collectable items that enthusiasts and collector desire. More importantly the YVR aviation collectables show offers collectors a chance to find those long lost items. There are tables full of airline paraphernalia of airlines and airplanes long past. The best way to look at the collectables show is as a huge flea market for aviation buffs. Hear you will be able to find those toys you played with as a child, the ones you now wish you had left in the package. In addition, if you are a serious collector of airline branded material, such as, die-cast aircraft, aircraft photos and airline products then the YVR Aviation collectables show is a must see. With double the amount of participants and vendors than last year coming from all over the North American continent this year’s event is sure to be one for the record.

With tons of free parking, this is a sure bet to spend a day at the airport for any aviation enthusiast, large or small. Fly by the website to get more information check at http://www.yvraviationshow.com
