Building Bridges Conference to Fill "Knowledge Gap" Between Autistic/Indigo/Gifted/ and Multiple Otherwise "Labeled" Children and Today's Society

First-of-its-kind conference will focus on providing Teachers, Parents, Health Care Professionals and the General Public with practical, affordable and non-intrusive answers and solutions to many common behavioral and cognitive problems facing today's children.

(PRWEB) May 4, 2007 -- Today's children are increasingly finding themselves tangled up in well-intended adult biases that may be doing more harm than good. Namely, the rift between the medical model -- with its inherent bias to focus on "problems," i.e., autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), social impairment, etc., and the New Age or spiritual perspective, that arguably looks at the world with proverbial rose colored glasses, seeing great gifts, talents, or misunderstood advanced levels of consciousness instead of possible mental illness and / or physical dysfunction.

For example, when a child is labeled, "autistic" in one breadth, and an "indigo child with great psychic and healing abilities" in another, it's easy to see how these children, and in fact society itself, are getting profoundly mixed messages that may very well be exacerbating their condition, as well as their very identities.

The short answer is that there is a great amount of truth and illusion to be addressed in both perspectives
Many of the more highly developed children are failing to adapt to the parameters of our society, often with tragic results.

Parents are stressed well beyond "breaking point" in many cases, often feeling abandoned by society and bullied by the apparent stance of the Medical and Educational System.

Into The Solution
The "Building Bridges for the Children Conference" (www.buildingbridgesconference.com), which will be held at the magnificent Calgary Telus Convention Center, in Calgary, Canada, September 15-16, 2007, will connect the dots between what's right and what's wrong with today's children, integrating medical knowledge with spiritual wisdom to distill an array of answers and solutions that the participants can take home and implement immediately. "The short answer is that there is a great amount of truth and illusion to be addressed in both perspectives," said Hugh Gilbert, Conference Chairperson. "What our presenters will share, are many effective techniques which combine medical research with spiritual realities. These techniques are providing ways to improve communication with the children , as well as greatly reduce the stresses on those who care for and work with them. Many appropriate information networks will be born at this conference." Gilbert added.

The two-day intensive conference (which also uniquely invites ongoing documented input in any areas of concern from all in attendance) will showcase speakers who are education / health care professionals / parents who have bridged the "knowledge gap" between the spiritual and medical paradigms to create a truly integrated and holistic platform that produce reliable and reputable results, including the following behavioral specifics:

*Eating
*Sleeping
*Communicating
*Allergies
*Schooling
*Social interactions
*Addictions
*Near-Death Experiences

The perspective from the children themselves will also be presented.

"Due to anticipated demand, attendees are encouraged to register early, not only to receive 'early bird' discounts and bonuses, but to also book hotel rooms since the 4,000 seat arena will make hotel accommodations ultimately in short supply," stated Gilbert.
