World's Rarest Vintage Cars Roll Out In Colorado Springs

The Broadmoor Hotel to host the First Annual Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance.

Colorado Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) May 8, 2007 -- Over the three-day Labor Day weekend, the Broadmoor Hotel will host the inaugural Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance, an exhibition of the rarest vintage vehicles in the world. Pristinely restored and held in private collections, these automotive works of art are expected to draw more than 5,000 visitors.

There are fifteen officially-recognized Concours d'Elegance events across the U.S. annually, with blockbuster shows held in California and Florida. In its maiden year, the Colorado Concours is set to rank 3rd in the nation. Given that Colorado has the second largest per capita collector population in the United States, Dan Kane, Co-Founder and CEO of the Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance, expects Colorado to pass the 18,000-visitor mark of Florida's Amelia Island Concours in as little as five years.

You wouldn't believe the wealth of beauty we have warehoused around this state. It's like hundreds of Colorado residence decided to hang Rembrandts in their garages.
According to Janet Burns, president and co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance, "The draw of the Broadmoor is huge with the Concours community. It has tremendous prestige, history and beauty, and these are the very characteristics we look for when qualifying vehicles for a Concours. Some of the most respected judges on the Concours circuit have already signed on to officiate at The Broadmoor."

According to Kane, Colorado collectors have, until now, lacked a venue to display their elegant automotive possessions. He says, "You wouldn't believe the wealth of beauty we have warehoused around this state. It's like hundreds of Colorado residence decided to hang Rembrandts in their garages."

Burns, a motorcycle enthusiast, adds, "You can't not have motorcycles in a Colorado Concours, so in this event, vintage motorcycles will have a prominent place. The buzz this decision is generating has already given our event a bit of a Western brand."

Tickets for the Rocky Mountain Concours go on sale this week. Details are available at www.rmconcours.com.
