With magicians appearing in record number in movies, television as well as several new Las Vegas shows including one by Cirque du Soleil, it comes as no surprise that magic is also big on the Internet. Magic videos by Criss Angel, David Blaine, Cyril Takayama and Marco Tempest consistently rank among the most viewed viral clips on the web. Between the constant flow of clips to sites like YouTube, Revver and Google Video it's become an almost impossible task for a magic fan to keep track. Fortunately, the folks at iTricks.com have unveiled iTricks.TV a website dedicated to providing access to the latest online magic videos.
Created by magician Andrew Mayne, iTricks.TV was intended to solve a personal desire, "I'm a magic addict and love to see new videos. Unfortunately there aren't enough hours in the day to search through them all to find the best. If you're a magic fan, what's popular on YouTube is something you saw a year ago." To find them, Mayne recruited a group of magic enthusiasts to filter through YouTube and other video site offerings to find the best videos and put them all in one convenient location. They help magic fans find hidden gems like a Doug Henning appearance on The Muppets and David Copperfield's vanish of the Statue of Liberty and provide useful tagging information that makes the videos easier to find.
"iTricks.TV is a living thing," said magician Eddy Ray who was a fan of the site before becoming an active contributer. "No more searching for that needle in a haystack. Now I can watch what I want when I want and there is no junk to sift through. iTricks.TV is pure magic."
Besides aggregating videos into one location, iTricks.TV has also become a showcase for up and coming magicians looking to make a hit with fans of magic. When Adam Mada wanted to show off his Sleight series of web videos he went to iTricks.TV.
"I was honored to put my series Sleight on iTricks.TV, Justin, Andrew and team are super professional and really know their stuff," said Australian street magician Adam Mada. "iTricks.TV is simply the best and most comprehensive repository of magic video accessible, if you want people to see your stuff get it up on iTricks."
Editor of iTricks.com and supervisor of the iTricks.TV aggregation, Justin Robert Young, points out, "We're the place to see your favorite magician as a kid, the act you can't live without seeing now and the one that will completely change the way you think about magic in the future."
