After completing tests to confirm interoperability between CoroBot and Microsoft Robotics Studio, we are even more confident that our mobile robot platform will be a powerful productivity tool for robotics application developers.

BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) May 16, 2007

As part of its ongoing efforts in the creation of new robotic development applications, CoroWare Technologies, an Innova Robotics & Automation (INRA.OB) company, today unveiled at RoboBusiness 2007 an affordable and flexible mobile robot for researchers, hobbyists and developers in the industrial and service robot segments.

The unit is equipped with a PC-class CPU, on-board sensors and a color camera. Also developed by CoroWare and available as an option is a robotic arm capable of four degrees of freedom. CoroBot is compatible with Microsoft Robotics Studio®, a Windows-based robotics applications creation environment for the PC and other computing platforms.

“With CoroBot, we specifically designed the system to minimize the complexity of robotic development,” said Lloyd Spencer, president of CoroWare Technologies. “After completing tests to confirm interoperability between CoroBot and Microsoft Robotics Studio, we are even more confident that our mobile robot platform will be a powerful productivity tool for robotics application developers.”

CoroBot features expanded functionality by providing enough physical mounting space for additional communication and electrical inputs and outputs. In addition, CoroBot has expansive storage space for programs and log files as well as CPU capacity to run additional software.

“We believe CoroBot is an important development in the growing robotics field,” said Dan Kara, industry analyst and president of Robotics Trends. “We believe the introduction of new products to the market like CoroBot, with its flexible platform, will open up new business opportunities and drive further progress across the industry.” Robotics Trends is an integrated media company focused on the personal, service, and mobile robotics industry.

Beginning today, CoroWare is taking orders for CoroBot and intends to begin shipping next month. Details on CoroBot’s capabilities, options and pricing can be found by visiting http://www.corobot.net. CoroWare will be demonstrating the capabilities of CoroBot throughout RoboBusiness in booth #106. The RoboBusiness 2007 Conference and Expo is today and tomorrow, May 15 – 16, 2007 at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

“We are proud to see CoroWare at the forefront of innovation in mobile robotics,” said Walter Weisel, chairman and CEO of Innova Robotics & Automation. “The delivery of solutions into the marketplaces where we believe CoroWare enjoys unique competitive advantages is very supportive of Innova’s overall growth strategy.”

Pricing and Availability
The CoroBot is expected to begin shipping in June 2007. List price for the basic CoroBot model is US $2,499 and ranges to US $3,499 depending on optional equipment and choice of configuration.
