A New Independence Day Tradition at The Mount Washington Resort

New Hampshire's grandest all-American family celebration will be held at The Mount Washington Resort's Firecracker Carnival and Independence Day Celebration on Sunday July 1, 2007. Live entertainment, great food, endless games, family fun galore and the best fireworks in New England will all take place at the Resort's alpine center, Bretton Woods, a new and expanded venue for this Fourth of July tradition in New Hampshire.

Bretton Woods, New Hampshire (PRWEB) June 2, 2007 -- New Hampshire's grandest all-American family celebration will be held at The Mount Washington Resort's Firecracker Carnival and Independence Day Celebration on Sunday July 1, 2007. Live entertainment, great food, endless games, family fun galore and the best fireworks in New England will all take place at the Resort's alpine center, Bretton Woods, a new and expanded venue for this Fourth of July tradition in New Hampshire.

Gates will open at noon on July 1 for the festivities that include a variety of fun food choices, a climbing wall, bouncy houses, dunk tanks, pony rides, magic shows, pie eating contests and musical performances.

The music is slated to begin at the alpine center at 1:00 p.m. with the all-American blues sounds of the Jeremy Dean Band. The acoustic bluegrass brother duo, The Sky Blue Boys, will follow at 2:00 p.m. with their nimble tune picking, and the energetic Wicked Smart Horn Band takes the stage at 5:15 p.m. Beginning at 7:15 p.m., Banjo Dan and the Mid-Nite Plowboys will deliver some of the finest, most dynamic, and most original bluegrass music ever heard in this corner of the country.

Following a day of family fun and entertainment, the award-winning Atlas Advanced Pyrotechnics will present a musically-choreographed display that has become known as "the most spectacular fireworks display north of the South Pole". Following the fantastic fireworks, the Jeremy Dean Band will close the day with their rendition of patriotic favorites.

Concert and fireworks tickets are complimentary to Resort guests and will be available to the public at the Bretton Woods alpine center for a fee of $15 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.mtwashington.com/independenceday. A cash bar and beer tent will be available and no coolers will be allowed on the Resort grounds.

As spectacular as it is, The Firecracker Carnival and Independence Day Celebration at The Mount Washington Resort is just one part of the "Let Freedom Ring" events, three full days of family fun, June 29 - July 1. Recreational activities for guests and visitors on June 29-30 include the newly opened offerings at the Resort's Bretton Woods alpine area, including chairlift rides, mountaintop dining, downhill mountain biking, mountain scooters, hiking, disc golf and fly fishing, as well as golf, tennis, swimming, horseback riding and lawn games. Special family events scheduled throughout the weekend include a 5k run or walk, a junior puppeteer workshop, a family scavenger hunt, patriotic crafts, an ice cream social, and games for the entire family.

Weekend packages at The Mount Washington Hotel start at $219 per person, per night based on double occupancy, and include dinner, breakfast and all July 1st activities. Also included in the package is a Fourth of July welcome bag, packed with essential celebratory needs fit for this festive and patriotic celebration as well as shuttle service to and from the celebration on July 1, as well as complimentary access to the "Red, White and Blue Club," with preferred seating and views of the event.
