Del Pacifico at Esterillos Completes First Buildings of Town Center, La Prada; Leases Space to Banco Naccionale

Del Pacifico at Esterillos Completes First Buildings of Town Center, La Prada; Has First Occupants and Leases Space to Banco Naccionale. Costa Rican Community Designed by Award Winning Architect Dhiru Thadani

Esterillos Este, Costa Rica (PRWEB) June 14, 2007 -- Barry Strudwick, co-founder of Del Pacifico at Esterillos in Esterillos Este, Costa Rica, has announced that the first buildings of the town center, La Prada, have been completed, and Banco Naccionale has leased space to join the first occupants.

Mr. Strudwick said proudly, "The heart of any great town is a vibrant town center, where people can meet, eat, talk and share experiences. La Prada will be the heart of Del Pacifico and the place where people come together to make memories."

When completed, the town center will have 23 buildings, which will include two restaurants and two office buildings, as well as 19 residential buildings housing 38 condominiums. Twenty two of the 38 condos are already sold, with one bedroom condos starting at $225,000. This is the entry level price for condos on the property and prices range to $2 million for luxury private villas. The town center will have a mix of shops to serve the Del Pacifico community, which spans a 700 acre master plan resort, with a site for a five star hotel and an 18 Hole Championship golf course designed by Billy Casper Golf Professionals. To date, over 70 houses and condos are under construction or completed on the property.

In addition, says Strudwick, they have received dozens of inquiries from merchants wanting to open shop at the town center. The selection process is rigorous because Strudwick wants to create the right spirit through the merchants. Current plans also include a custom furniture store, art gallery, fine wine and food shop, a fly fishing and sport shop, as well as specialty apparel stores for men and women.

According to Mr. Strudwick, "We are truly building a town that is architecturally distinct. Also, Del Pacifico is not just another Gringo gated community, it has attracted people from all over the world and will be multicultural in nature. A cultural exchange just can't take place behind a gate."

World renowned architect Dhiru Thadani of Ayer/ Saint /Gross, who also worked on the Kentlands in Maryland, is the main architect for the project and created the master plan. Kentlands is an award-winning neo-traditional community in Gaithersburg, originally conceived on 358 acres in 1988. Today, it remains the most successful and largest neo-traditional New Urbanism project in North America.

Upon completion, the town center at Del Pacifico will be over a quarter of a mile long, and according to Mr. Strudwick, who quips, "Bigger than downtown Pamarindo." It will include an amphitheatre and a town hall to be designed by internationally renowned architect Leon Krier, who has won awards for his designs at Prince Charles' Poundbury.

"We have assembled an international all-star team and the town center evokes a strong physical presence with the buildings having ceilings up to 45 feet high. We are building a town, not just a Spanish colonial strip center that you would find in Florida. This is part of the reason that sales have been brisk."

Also, as part of the international team assembled to work the project, none may be as important as William Ramirez, the Costa Rican builder responsible for the construction of Del Pacifico.

"We are building a town to last hundreds of years," said Mr. Ramirez. "We are using the latest building methods and highest quality materials," he offered.

The location is also a selling point. Del Pacifico is located on the beach along the central pacific coast midway between Jaco Beach, a bustling surf town with restaurants reminiscent of a seaside community of long ago, and the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park, the most popular eco-tourism destination in Central America. Del Pacifico is also just a 15 minute plane ride from San Jose, the capital.

Amenities round out the attraction of Del Pacifico, which staffs a masseuse around the clock, as well as offers sunrise yoga on the beach and a spa. A concierge office will be located at the town center, where residents and guests can make reservations for various activities, including deep sea fishing, zip lining, surfing lessons and other attractions unique to Costa Rica.
They will also be able to arrange transportation and book horses stabled at Del Pacifico through the concierge office.

But according to Mr. Strudwick, "Costa Rica's greatest asset is the calming personality of its people."

Del Pacifico at Esterillos, is located in Esterillos Este, Costa Rica. It is a 700 acre beach and golf luxury community located in the beautiful pacific coast town of Esterillos Este. With over half a mile of beach frontage and rolling hills with elevations of up to 250 feet, primary rain forest and wildlife, Del Pacifico has exceptional opportunities for those looking to invest in a condominium, single family home or even for the more experienced investor seeking a development opportunity.
