PC-Doctor Introduces Advanced Tests That Improve Multimedia Experience
New PC-Doctor diagnostics support competing Blu-ray and HD DVD standards as well as TV tuners that make television signals available on PCs
Reno, Nev. (PRWEB) June 26, 2007 -- New diagnostic tests of hardware components that support emerging digital media requirements on personal computers are now available from PC-Doctor Inc. (www.pc-doctor.com), the global leader in system health tools.
Included are tests for Blu-ray and HD DVD optical drives, the two dominant formats competing to become the de facto standard for high-definition digital video discs, and for TV tuner components that allow PCs to receive and process television signals.
"Continued investment in new diagnostics is essential to keep pace with technological advances in the PC industry," said Doug van Aman, PC-Doctor's chief marketing officer. "PC-Doctor works closely with the world's leading PC companies, component manufacturers, service organizations and others to make sure that up-to-date diagnostics are available when new hardware ships."
The two DVD formats have made the headlines in recent months as backers jockey for market position. Just last week, Blockbuster announced that it would adopt the Blu-ray DVD format in its stores but would offer both formats through its mail service. HP, meanwhile, supports both formats on the same PC, which gives customers the advantage of choice.
The three new tests are just three of the more than 350 that comprise PC-Doctor's diagnostic suite in Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Founded in 1993, PC-Doctor Inc. is the global leader in system health tools used to design, manufacture, support and service personal computers. Acknowledged by PC industry leaders as the de facto standard for diagnostics, PC-Doctor has shipped more than 100 million units worldwide. Its products are available in 11 languages for Windows and Linux operating systems, which run on leading Intel and AMD microprocessors.
