Fellow Filmmaker Takes Back Statement About Michael Moore

'Sicko' Leaves Her Speechless

Madison, WI (PRWEB) July 1, 2007 -- Kathleen Slattery-Moschkau and Michael Moore are part of a unique group of filmmakers leading the charge to expose the issues American consumers are facing today as they navigate the broken health care system. As a fellow filmmaker, consumer health advocate and former pharma insider, Kathleen Slattery-Moschkau praises Michael Moore's new film, "Sicko", and takes back her statement that once appeared in the USA Today stating, "I'm not Michael Moore."

Never questioning the filmmaker's talent, Slattery-Moschkau was hesitant to be lumped into the Moore camp because of his controversial and often divisive method of exposing issues in the past. "My natural inclination to separate myself from Moore was because I wanted to bring people together on the health care problem," said Slattery-Moschkau. "Before, I thought his films separated people on issues, but now to see him take such a thoughtful 'unite rather than divide' perspective in "Sicko", I'm completely speechless."

"There are times when the health care issue feels so big and insurmountable," she said. "Moore's film helped validate our team's efforts over the past three years and made me feel quietly honored to be a part of the fight for better care."

Slattery-Moschkau's newest film, "PERx", launched online Monday, June 18 at "Side Effects" (starring Katherine Heigl) and "Money Talks: Profits Before Patient Safety".

News organizations like the New York Times, NBC Nightly News, CBS News and USA Today, as well as more than 100 other media outlets worldwide have turned to her to discuss how people can become better consumers of prescription drugs and take control of their health. She has also met with leading medical experts across the country and tackles critical health and prevention issues on her nationally syndicated radio show The Kathleen Show.

Please contact me at (209) 736-6769 if you would like to speak with Slattery-Moschkau for a unique analysis of "Sicko", or about her new film "PERx".
