Fans Create Their Own Hogwarts In Toronto

"A Potter Party In Celebration Of The End Of An Era In Literature." Young fans in Toronto, Canada gather and organise a major Potter Party for the release of the final Harry Potter novel. The event is being held at Casa Loma, Toronto's only castle built in the early 1900s, for July 20th, 2007. Guests will also be able to purchase a copy of the final book.

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) July 6, 2007 -- Fans have gotten together in Toronto, Canada in anticipation of the release of the final Harry Potter novel. Sixteen volunteers have created a Potter Party in Casa Loma (http://hp-casaloma.virgin-designs.net) for July 20th, which has many fans buzzing in excitement.

With Casa Loma being an actual castle built in the early 1900s, the location already gives the sense of a Canadian "wizard school". This was one of the main inspirations which triggered the event's organization.

Led by 20-year-old Rachelle Tessier, the volunteers consist of young adults ranging in age from 16-22 years, who are fuelled by their love of reading and for the popular Harry Potter series.

Together, these youths have pulled together their experiences to create every fan's dream party. With a schedule ranging from a formal dinner, to a live rock concert, to a variety of contests and games, the party is intended to keep even the most die-hard fans happy throughout the evening.

"I've attended events in the past that were heavily aimed at a younger audience, and I found they [the party organizers seem to forget that the original fan base grows older and more mature with each new book, which is part of what makes Harry Potter so unique," says Rachelle, speaking on how the party was planned.

It is for this reason that the event has been restricted to ages 14 and over. However, due to the nature of the event and the position of the volunteers, guests must register and pay for admission on-line through their official website, where they can also pre-purchase a copy of the final novel.
