Georgia's Largest Mall Like Heaven to Atlanta Author

Atlanta novelist, Darlene F. Wofford, author of "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember" was greeted by a loyal listener of her radio show when arriving at her book-signing event at Mall of Georgia's Waldenbooks.

Acworth, GA (PRWEB) July 7, 2007 -- This past Saturday Atlanta author, Darlene F. Wofford was at Mall of Georgia's Waldenbooks greeting guests and signing her novel, "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember."

When asked how the day went she was anxious to share, "I had the pleasure of meeting lots of good folks at Georgia's largest mall, and the Southeast's second largest mall. It has more than 220 stores within the 3-story mall. It's where the Imax multiplex cinema is and they have Dillard's, Nordstram, Belk, JC Penney, Macy's, Sears, and just about every other store you could possibly imagine. It's really a place to behold. In my shopping heyday I would have thought I had died and gone to that great big glorious mall in heaven. However, I wasn't there for leisure, although I did have a whole lotta fun, and it was a very productive day."

The bookstore is located between Belk's and the Imax and the food court. Just as one might expect in such a busy traffic location, she saw hundreds of people that afternoon, and met a good percentage of them so it was a busy day for the author. Mall of Georgia is obviously a great place for a book-signing event as it was her tour's most successful one to date. This coming Saturday, June 7th, from 1 to 3 p.m. the novelist will be at Waldenbooks near Parisian on the upper level of Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth, Georgia, 770-476-7410.

When she arrived at the Mall of Georgia, the author was surprised to see and meet -- for the first time -- a loyal listener to the radio show. She remembered Cindy very well because the listener had even called in last year and they talked for almost the entire show.

If the name Darlene Wofford rings a bell it may be because she and Carl, her husband of 40 years, are both native Atlantans, and along with sons Kenneth and Cory, have been Woodstock/Acworth residents for 35 years. She has been in the mortgage finance industry for 20 years, and every Saturday morning in 2006 from 10 to 11 a.m., she co-hosted an hour-long Atlanta radio talk-show called "Your Inner Voice." She has also been interviewed on several Atlanta radio stations recently regarding her novel.

Based on true events in the author's life, "An Assignment to Remember" is the first of three novels in her "Edgewise" series about a young woman in an edgewise state of mind, driven to the edge by back-to-back traumas. As a defense mechanism, her mind shut down to block out those life-altering events, however it blocked other memories as well. Told through the eyes of the author's alter ego, the inspiring story is not as much about the actual events as it is about the healing progression and the prevailing strength of unconditional love between two people.

To quote Page One Lit literary newsletter, "Wofford is a wonderful writer whose personality and charisma is vivid in every word and sentence in her new book, 'Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember.' This is the most honest, heart-inspiring book pf the year. 'Edgewise' is an example of how one woman wants to live in the past but realizes she can't. It is about confronting reality. It is about emotions. It is about communication. It is about life." A reader sums it up nicely on Barnes and Noble's web site in her review, "Edgewise took me on an emotional journey of laughter, sorrow and hope."
