Its very nature opens the door to artistic expression. Describing one's air guitar is a bit like describing what its like to feel good. You know when you do, but you have to think about it.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) July 12, 2007 -- If your air guitar glows plaid, you're guaranteed to groove on pop art artist Paul Thatcher's "British Invasion" collection release today.

Thatcher's "air guitar" artwork succeeds in coercing the invisible visible. Combining vibrant colors and bold lines with distortion and texture, his manipulations encourage viewers to decipher and ultimately to complete his compositions. Through his unique approach, Thatcher provides us with an exceptional perspective on one of his favorite subjects.

The six-piece collection depicts guitars played by early '60's rock groups that descended upon the hearts, minds and radios across America. "It was a favorite time for me personally," adds Thatcher, "my musical pallet was developing and vulnerable to the intoxicating hooks, licks and grooves of the time. I've created this collection to help preserve the memories created by the music of that generation, my generation."

On July 12th, Thatcher joins five other artists whose work will be displayed as part of a silent auction held at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. The event is being held to raise funds for Effection Media, a non-profit film production company.

"Air guitar is universal," states Thatcher. "Its very nature opens the door to artistic expression. Describing one's air guitar is a bit like describing what its like to feel good. You know when you do, but you have to think about it." The limited edition pieces are available on www.airguitar.com. Each piece ships in a custom air guitar flight case.
