Students at International Academy of Hair Design To Offer $5 Haircuts to Raise Funds for Competition

Cosmetology students at the International Academy of Hair Design, 3350 N. Arizona Ave. in Chandler, will be clipping and saving their way to an educational hair forum in Dallas, Texas by offering $5 haircuts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 12.

Chandler, AZ (PRWEB) July 29, 2007 -- Cosmetology students at the International Academy of Hair Design, 3350 N. Arizona Ave. in Chandler, will be clipping and saving their way to an educational hair forum in Dallas, Texas, by offering $5 haircuts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 12. The fundraising event will also include drawings for free haircuts. Light refreshments will be served.
    
The fundraiser will enable the cosmetology students to earn money so they can attend an educational hair forum in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 14 and 15, 2007. The two-day competition will include three categories, bridal and fantasy mannequin competitions, as well as a three-person fantasy competition.
    
The students will be competing against future cosmetologists from nine beauty schools in Texas, including ITS Academy and Aladdin Beauty College; six schools in New Mexico and Oklahoma, including the Olympian University campuses and Aladdin Beauty College, as well as International Academy of Hair Design in Chandler and International Academy of Hair Design, College of Hair & Aesthetics, 4812 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe.

"We want to provide our students with a cutting-edge environment and learning experience that would set them on a successful career path," said Jessica Wolman, one of the three owners of the cosmetology school. "Having them compete in the Hair Forum gives them the opportunity to display the skills they've learned, demonstrate they can successfully work as part of a team, as well show off their creative talents. We recognize flying to Texas to compete can be a financial burden for many of the students, so we have opened up the school and provided this fundraising opportunity so they can compete in this exciting competition."
