Aspiring Wizards Trek to Trump Marina for "Hogwarts by the Bay" with Master Magician Jeff McBride
Magician Jeff McBride will also attempt to break his own Guinness Book Record for Card Scaling.
(PRWEB) August 4, 2007 -- From August 8th through the 13th a dozen or more magicians from around the world will attend an extended master class conducted by master magicians Jeff McBride & Eugene Burger.
McBride and Burger run a modern day version of Harry Potter's Hogwarts school, the McBride Magic & Mystery School. Most sessions take place at McBride's "House of Mystery" in Las Vegas, but since he is in residence for the month of August in The Shell at Trump Marina, this month's class was moved to Atlantic City. McBride is recognized as one of the best at his craft.
At the Master Class, aspiring amateur and professional magicians will present their acts on the stage at The Shell for commentary and direction by McBride and Burger. In addition, students will be given an extensive behind the scenes look at what it takes to put a magic show on in today's casino market. "We may even have them all entertain in the audience before the show one evening," McBride quips. "I strongly believe that when it comes to perfecting your magic, you have to perform before real audiences as much as possible. Magic isn't just about tricks - the real magic is what happens between the perfomer and the audience - and the only way to work on that is to jump in and perform!"
Former Master Class students have won many major competions at conventions and magic festivals around the world, and many have illustrious professional careers of their own. "We get the true lovers of magic. People who eat, drink and sleep magic. That kind of magician is always improving. Always working on new material. These are the true wizards of today's magic world." McBride's Magic and Mystery school is one of only a few schools for the deeper professional study of magic in the world.
Partnering with McBride in the school is the bespectacled and bearded "Dumbledore," Eugene Burger. He has written fifteen best-selling books for the trade, starred in eight instructional videos, lectured extensively to magicians' groups in over a dozen countries, and his writings have been translated into several languages. Burger's deep understanding of the psychology and philosophy behind the magic have won him international accolades, cover stories in conjuring magazines, and four awards from the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood. In addition to everything else McBride will attempt to break his own Guinness Book of Records for the greatest one handed card scale in a minute - a total of 106 cards cleared a set distance of 12 ft. within 60 seconds. A truly amazing feat.
"Jeff McBride - Magic at the Edge" will be in the Shell at Trump Marina from Friday, August 3rd through Monday, September 3, 2007. Show times are 8:00pm on Thurs. & Fri., 7:00pm & 9:30pm on Sat., and 7:00pm on Sun. Doors open one hour prior to each show. There will not be a show on Fri., August 24th.
