BiggyTV Isn't Your Kid's Online Video Site

BiggyTV simplifies the Internet Video on Demand experience, and reaches out to viewers with content that goes beyond merely TV reruns or amateur clips. BiggyTV delivers online video entertainment on a silver platter.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 24, 2007 -- BiggyTV has announced the launch of more Video on Demand channels, making navigation on the site increasingly simpler for people who don't have time to sift through hours of user-generated content. Designed for an audience that wants to be entertained and informed, BiggyTV now offers the chance to indulge in another favorite American pastime: shopping.

Online video sites can be difficult to navigate, often requiring visitors to download proprietary players that are counterintuitive, and then failing to deliver quality content for the effort involved. If you're a teen, it might be fun to spend endless hours searching through random amateur videos, or watching reruns of network television shows. The folks at BiggyTV strive to hit a different chord -- professionally produced content that's easy to find, and is "adult friendly."

Kyle Borg, co-founder and President of BiggyTV, notes "Online Video on Demand sites have been taking the easy route by asking users to do all the work for them. For most of these sites, there hasn't been enough thought about how the visitor experience will evolve past the 'honeymoon', or novelty stage. BiggyTV, on the other hand, has created a site that pre-filters content into easy-to-navigate channels, so viewers can find exactly what they want. We also release new content weekly on "Biggy Tuesdays", providing a familiar predictability that consumers have grown accustomed with in other markets, such as DVD releasing. Video on Demand is great, and we believe it represents the future of entertainment, but we also believe you still need to deliver new content on a regular, reliable schedule."

Other video sites have targeted teens with their designs, content and advertising. However, they have failed to capture the audience that truly drives online purchases -- adults, and especially women. Online shopping is big business. BiggyTV believes that the 'Call to Action' pre-roll and banner advertising that link visitors directly into online retailers will further drive revenue for its new shopping network.

Mr. Borg adds "The difference between BiggyTV and other online video sites is that our visitors don't have a problem watching a pre-roll video because they have selected a specific piece of content, not a random user-generated video. Since our videos are pre-filtered and organized into key categories, visitors are actively involved in the entertainment selection rather than passively watching."

Recent studies have shown that most online videos aren't seen in the home, but in the office where the connections are faster. On average, a viewer will spend between eight to ten minutes watching content. That's just enough time to enjoy one or several of the variety of short-form videos that BiggyTV specializes in programming.

BiggyTV delivers an active, intuitive user experience, starting with a Program Guide that graphically displays the various channels available. Browsing video content is simple, and small pop-up windows display detailed information about that program over the program's icon. Once a video selection is made, the BiggyTV Player is launched, delivering the largest display size currently on the web, framed within BiggyTV borders and banner ads.

"BiggyTV is focused on delivering quality content that is specific to Internet TV, matching content to demographics and ensuring users have a satisfying experience. For example, BiggyTV recently launched "The Go To Mom" with Kimberley Clayton Blaine, a licensed Family and Child therapist. With the launch of these programs under our "Kids and Family" category, we have attracted and signed several educational and animated children's show creators that will complement "The Go To Mom's" programming," concludes Mr. Borg.

BiggyTV extends the reach of video sites like "The Go To Mom", by giving them exposure to audiences beyond their direct demographic. BiggyTV partners with numerous video content portals to syndicate their videos to millions of BiggyTV viewers.
