Richard Dorsey Debuts His Breakout Novel, The Sword Fighter

In the midst of his labor, Marco finds himself caught between the Resistance and the occupying Romans. His journey as a sword fighter becomes interwoven with the Romans and Resistance when he discovers that his family and their home are in danger of being destroyed. Marco travels to his home called El Refugio, as the Romans under the command of Verres (Pompey's envoy), also make their way to his home with a plot to rob, kill, and destroy his family's legacy.

The Sword Fighter tells a tale of greed, brutality, and family loyalty. Readers are introduced to powerful and thieving Romans such as Quintus Metellus Pius and Verres. The author paints a compelling portrait of Roman deceit and corruption. Adding to the book's richness is the historical background. Here, we get a picture of life under an oppressive regime.
