Intertek Acquires National Software Testing Labs
Bolsters Capacity and Creates Industry's Only Full-Service Mobile Device and Applications Testing Lab for Manufacturers, Developers, Platform Sponsors and Wireless Service Providers

NSTL is the leading test lab for mobile applications used for entertainment, gaming, banking and, among others, business purposes. The company provides functionality, usability, quality assurance, and compliance testing to requirements set forth by Application Developers, Platform Sponsors (such as QUALCOMM TRUE BREW and Microsoft Mobile) and Wireless Service Providers.
The NSTL acquisition is the second in as many months for Intertek in the mobile device and applications testing space. This bolsters Intertek's wireless testing scope and capacity, and creates the industry's only full service testing lab for mobile devices and the applications that run on them and Wireless Service Provider networks.

Intertek's mobile device and applications services now provide key market segments with the testing and certification services required for market release.
- Mobile Device Manufacturers: CTIA testing (cdmaOne, TDMA, AMPs, cdma2000, and Over- the-Air performance), SAR and EMC testing, handset compatibility, usability evaluations, and, among others, FCC certification.
- Application Developers: Quality assurance evaluations, application usability and functionality testing across devices and networks, pre-testing and platform certification, and compliance evaluations to Wireless Service Provider requirements.
- Platform Sponsors: Certification program development and program administration.
- Wireless Service Providers: Field testing, program and protocol development, device and application interoperability.
