OTC of Ann Arbor, Michigan opens new 10,500 square foot data center for colocation customers in the prestigious Avis Park south of Ann Arbor. OTC, a Michigan 50 company provides colocation and data center infrastructure for high availability and disaster recovery IT functions.

Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) September 20, 2007 -- Online Technologies Corporation (OTC) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced today that it will open a new data center in Michigan. The 10,500 square foot data center, to be named OTC-Avis was previously used by Thomson/Medstat and is located in Avis Farms, a prestigious high tech park south of Ann Arbor.

OTC-Avis will have fiber connections to other OTC data centers. This network of data centers will span diverse geography and power grids and can be knit together into a "virtual data center." The result is a highly available and highly scalable data center and network infrastructure for OTC's growing colocation and managed services customers.

Customers use OTC's data centers, network and managed services to outsource high availability Internet hosting or disaster recovery for their servers. In recent years, OTC has experienced increasing demand for its infrastructure services.

"We are very bullish. Mass digitization, combined with increased technology complexity and threats are driving demand for outsourced data center infrastructure. Companies in the area need a safe place for their data and most want it local from a firm they know and trust," said Ty Myers, Vice President of Sales.

OTC-Avis is scheduled to open for production in the fourth quarter of 2007 and will house management and engineering staff, which OTC is hiring.

With this acquisition, OTC has grown from one 800 square foot data center in 2003 to four data centers with a combined total of 53,900 square feet. In addition, OTC has leased from a third party capacity at two data centers in Southfield for companies requiring service closer to the Detroit area.
